Raiders Road and Kirkcudbright

Rob sent us off to explore the Raiders Road whilst dropping Emma off for her second freshers week (or three) in Glasgow.

Raiders Road is essentially a 10mile gravel track through forestry commission woods. The journey up there via Loch Ken was already beautiful but the Otter Pools and Loch Stroan were particularly fine though more people than otters in the river…

Then on to Kirkcudbright (the artist town) known for its light. A very nice pot of tea and brownie fortified us then a visit to several galleries tempted Ying but not quite enough…

We arrived back about the same time as Rob and Anne, and were treated to a very fine meal of 39 day hung beef, meltingly tender
