Today started well with eggs and bacon on toast then off to the Black Isle (named because it’s a long peninsular (!) and densely wooded at the time)
We tried to spot bottle-nosed dolphins at Chanonry Point but despite a nice walk alongside the golf course and back, failed miserably
Thence to Cromarty at the furthest tip, a quaint little village/town but dominated by about half a dozen oil rigs presumably being dismantled in Cromarty Firth
After that a bit of a hike back cross country on passing place roads during harvest (something TomTom failed to factor in!)
We opted for a relatively short section along Loch Ness and nearly got wiped out by a van overtaking as we turned right…
